● Description: The garment is crafted from a semi-worsted wool blend fabric (80% wool, 20% acrylic). The base cloth is woven on a rapier loom, featuring warp yarns that were custom-dyed to precisely match the original reference sample. The white and blue warp yarns were manually threaded onto a dual-warp beam system to facilitate a large-scale double-sided Jacquard weave. The front side features a two-tone plaid twill pattern, while the reverse side displays a large “G” monogram grid pattern. The preliminary development phase consumed nearly 100 kilograms of yarn for sampling and testing—including napping and washing treatments—to accurately determine pattern shrinkage and adjust the base cloth design, ensuring the final fabric pattern remains identical in scale to the original reference sample after finishing. The garment features manual cutting to ensure precise horizontal stripe alignment across the front and back panels; furthermore, the three pockets are cut by hand to ensure the stripes align perfectly with the surrounding fabric pattern. Each cut panel is individually hand-numbered to guarantee flawless alignment during the sewing process. Pattern placement is marked using a chalk-dust stenciling technique. The interior circular pockets are attached using a blind-stitch method; executing a perfectly rounded pocket while simultaneously maintaining precise pattern alignment places extremely high demands on the sewing operator’s technical proficiency. The “GG” emblem patches are applied using a hand-cranked embroidery machine, while the intricate embroidery details are executed using imported Japanese Tajima embroidery machines.
After manual trimming on the machine table, the emblem patches are secured with a flat-stitch border finish. The pocket edges, cuffs, and front placket are all accented with contrasting woven tape applied via flat-stitching. This woven tape is custom-made from hand-braided glossy polyester filament. The hem is finished using a traditional hand-pricked blind stitch. The garment is fastened with custom-molded bronze buttons featuring a gold-tone anchor motif, each hand-sewn into place. The overall stitching is straight and refined, the fabric is soft and comfortable, and the color consistency is flawless with no chromatic aberration.
